Public Outreach (2000)
Forde and Mollrich was hired by the City of Irvine,
California to conduct a public outreach campaign throughout Orange County
regarding the reuse of El Toro Marine Corps Air Station. The City
had serious concerns about the negative impacts of an airport reuse, and
offered the public an alternative in a Great Park for Orange County that
would include museums, youth and adult recreation facilities, education
facilities, botanical gardens, and other open space compatible uses.
Over the course of several months, Forde and Mollrich
produced a series of mailers and televisions commercials designed to
introduce Orange County residents to the concept of a Great Park and get
feedback about what amenities they would most like to see.
